Finding the right work of art for your space is not always easy. There are so many things to consider! Our job is to make your search for art an enjoyable process. Read more to learn about the most important things to know before you buy art and how we can help.
1. STYLE
This is the most important question! Does a certain style of art catch your attention, or do you have more of an eclectic taste? Is your home minimalist, traditional, Victorian, or modern? What colors and subjects are you most drawn to?
2. SPACE
Will the artwork be large and powerful, or small and intimate? Along with the size, the environment your art will live in plays a crucial role. Sometimes a small artwork can demand the same attention as a large work, it is just dependent on the environment and framing! A general rule of thumb is that an artwork should take up about 75% of the wall, but there are outliers to this "rule."
3. AUTHENTICITY
Know the artist! Learning about the artist’s journey can make you fall more in love with a work. We are in constant contact with all our artists, ensuring we can answer just about any question you may have about them and their work. We want you to feel confident in our art expertise, which is also why we include a Letter of Authenticity with each artwork purchase.
4. UNDERSTAND THE MEDIUM
While size is a large factor in value and monetary cost of an artwork, the medium plays a large role, as well. Oil paintings, acrylic paintings, and sculptures tend to be more expensive as they are original, one-off works of art. Photographs and limited-edition prints can be more affordable since there are more available.
5. BUDGET
We are aware that everyone has a budget to stick to, and we are happy to help you find that perfect work of art that falls within your budget. Another cost to keep in mind is framing, if necessary. If our collection does not have an artwork that speaks to you, we can use our array of resources to find you the perfect match.
